From everyone here at Queni Koi we’d like to congrulation Gary Wood on his Grand Champion award at the Mid Staffs Koi Show 2019. Sourced by us as Nisai in 2015, this Nogami Kohaku was raised at the farm for one year. She then made the journey back to Queni Koi HQ and raised here to 75cm, Gary bit the bullet earlier this year and made the purchase.
Gary has done really well keeping her condition in top nick during her move to his pond. It’s not always easy travelling with larger koi and preparing them for shows not long after.
This Koi featured at the 2019 Queni Koi Winter event but unfortauely went un-sold, which i was really surprised with! I’m glad Gary shared his love for this Kohaku as much as I did. The judges must have liked it too!
Well done Gary, a superb achievement.
We’d also like to congratulate Paul Dolan for his baby champion award. Sourced by us earlier this year, this Kohaku is bred by Sakai Fish Farm. Great keeping skills Paul and well done on a 2nd consecutive Baby Champion award at this show with QK Fish.
The Jimmy Morris trophy went to Stephen Gear with his Matsue Kohaku. Supplied by us as Tosai, she was raised here till late 2018. She left us at around the 55-60cm mark. Stephen took over her care and has done an excellent job with her. Unfortunately I don’t have an updated photo of her. But here she is when first purchased by us as Tosai. I’ve been told she’s now 60-65cm.
Congratulations to everyone involved. A huge well done to the show team for all of the hard work put in.
